How to apply for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Affidavit of Residence shield

The U.s.

Citizenship & Immigration Services is accepting applications for the Citizenship & Migration Protection (CMP) Affidavits of Residency shield, a document that helps people apply for permanent residency and citizenship.

The CMP Affidaviti, which was developed by the U:C.L.A. and the UCAV, is designed to assist those who have not previously had to prove their legal presence in the United States.

It is also a way to identify potential relatives who may not be eligible for citizenship because they were not born in the U, according to the CMP website.
