Trump calls out CNN reporter who challenged him in tweet about White House press pool

In a series of tweets Monday, President Donald Trump called CNN reporter Jim Acosta “fake news” and said that the network’s White House reporter was “not the CNN of yesterday.”

Trump said in a series on the White House Twitter account that Acosta had been “fake” for questioning him on the extent of his administration’s response to the Charlottesville violence.

The President’s tweets come just days after Acosta tweeted that he was “on vacation” and was “sick of being called fake news.””@jimacosta: I’m sick of being labeled fake news by the Fake News Media!”

Trump wrote.

“It’s time to stop pretending that you have no credibility.

Your ratings are pathetic and you have nothing to show for it!”

Trump’s tweet came as he and his family spent their holiday weekend in Florida.

Acosta also said that Trump had “absolutely no interest” in working with Democratic lawmakers in the House and Senate to repeal and replace ObamaCare.

Acosta said Monday that he would “not be surprised if this president is doing more to undermine our democracy.”
